Semester in Australia secures fully-furnished housing for students studying at any Sydney university. This allows students to go straight from the airport to their apartment, giving them more time to enjoy this world famous harbour city. Currently, we are able to provide students with the following housing options, all of which are within a short walk or a short bus ride of Sydney’s main education institutions. We pick you up from the airport on arrival and take you straight to your apartment! Internet is included in all Sydney accommodation.

Sydney Superior Apartments – you can choose a City Centre or inner city suburb location
These apartments are in a medium rise building in the heart of Sydney’s City Centre, just 1 block from beautiful Darling Harbour. Students are around the corner from University Technology Sydney (UTS) and TAFE City Campus, and a short walk or bus ride to the University of Sydney’s main campus in Darlington/Camperdown,.
The apartments are also a short walk to the harbour, central station, shopping, restaurants and entertainment.
There are 1 and 2 bedroom apartments available and students can choose to have their own room and bathroom or share a bedroom and bathroom. Shared rooms are single sex rooms, (2 single beds per room) or for couples. The apartments have a fully stocked kitchen, fully furnished living area with TV and phone. All utilities connections and usage fees for gas, electricity and water are included.
Sydney Superior Apartments (inner city suburb):
These apartments are in a low rise building, and are located in the funky inner city suburb of Chippendale, just a short walk from the University of Sydney’s main campus in Darlington/Camperdown and UTS. The apartments are also a short walk to the city, public transport, shopping, restaurants and entertainment.
Students share a room in a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartments (single sex rooms, 2 single beds per room). The apartments have a fully stocked kitchen, modern living area with TV and phone, and internal laundry with washer and dryer.
These apartments also have extras for our students, such as sheets, towels, pillows, blankets, air-conditioning and heating, a dishwasher, communal pool and BBQ area, an onsite gym, 24 hour security, weekly cleaning – even free toilet paper!
There is also a café in the apartment building with free wireless.

Shared Sydney Apartments:
Semester in Australia offers students the chance to book a single room in a shared house or apartment. These options are a short 5 minute walk or bus ride to UTS, the University of Sydney and the City Centre. You will be close to public transport, shopping, restaurants and entertainment. The apartments have everything you need in the kitchen, fully furnished living area with TV and all utilities connections and usage fees for gas, electricity and water are included. You share with a maximum of 3 other people.

Semester in Australia has secured a limited number of rooms on campus at the University of Sydney at the very popular Sydney University Village (SUV). The University of Sydney has over 45,000 students and only around 2,500 on campus rooms. This means SUV is booked out every semester, with a long waiting list of students keen to live on campus. Semester in Australia has a very limited number of places for students who wish to guarantee their place on campus.
Students can choose between a single room in a 5-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment or a studio apartment.
The 5-bedroom apartment is fully furnished with the living, dining and kitchen facilities shared by the five residents. There are two 3 seater lounges, an armchair, coffee table, dining table and six dining chairs are provided within the apartment in addition to the standard bedroom furnishings. Each apartment has two bathrooms to be shared by residents.
The studio apartments are perfect for students not wanting to share. They come with a private bathroom, a microwave, double bed, a small fridge and a ceiling fan. For students living in studio apartment, the Village has a central communal kitchen. It is fully stocked with gas cook tops, an oven, convection microwaves, rice makers, toasters and sandwich makers
SUV also offers students bicycle racks, a cafe, bar, outside social areas, reception desk, meeting rooms and a small computer resource centre.

Inclusions for your convenience:
Almost everything you need! So as well as not having to search for a place to live, you won’t even have to go shopping for essential items like towels, sheets, blankets or furniture! All apartments have a kitchen with plates, knives forks, pots & pans, stove, oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and cupboards. They also have air conditioning and heating. There is an internal laundry in each apartment with washing machine and dryer so you don’t need to worry about paying to clean your clothes at a Laundromat.
Personal airport pick-up:
Semester in Australia will arrange for you to be personally met at Sydney airport when you arrive. It’s comforting to have someone at the airport to greet you and who knows exactly where you need to go! This means that you go straight from the airport to your pre-arranged, fully furnished apartment for your Semester in Australia welcome which helps you get settled in to your new city and new home!
Cleaning (superior apartment option only):
Included in the cost of your Semester Housing Fee is a weekly clean of your apartment, where your sheets and bath towels will be changed/replaced and the apartment given a general clean (bathrooms cleaned and apartment vacuumed, etc). Students/ residents are responsible for maintaining and cleaning the apartment between service cleans. You will be responsible for keeping your room clean and laundering your own clothing. You will also be asked to help preserve the general order of bathrooms, kitchen and common areas and to wash your dishes, etc.
Semester in Australia students say having cleaning included has avoided any argumaents with flatmates and given them more time to enjoy Sydney!
Utilities:
Utilities connection and usage costs (water, electricity & gas) are included in your Semester Housing Fee. Semester in Australia will pay all utility bills (except telephone) on your behalf. You will not be liable for further utility charges unless in extreme circumstances, in which case you will be notified of excessive utility bills before you are charged additional fees.
Housing Services Fee:
This fee is included in the Semester Housing Fee and covers the housing and arrival services, the pre-booking of fully-furnished private rental accommodation, the pre-departure and arrival information service, on-site Resident Director services, arrivals information and Welcome Pack.
Security Deposit:
A Security Deposit of AUD$500 is in addition to the Semester Housing Fee. This Security Deposit is required in accordance with the State of New South Wales (NSW) Office of Fair Trading. The deposit is refundable, less reasonable cleaning costs, at the end of your tenancy provided the apartment is left in satisfactory condition and all furnishing items are accounted for and intact. Generally, you will receive the deposit refund 8 – 12 weeks after the conclusion of the semester.
Leases:
All leases are in line with the Australian academic year and run from February to June and July to November. Semester in Australia will provide housing for your entire semester/program at the Australian university. Any additional housing must be requested prior to your departure to Australia, and is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, please consider your travel dates carefully. The move in date for Sydney accommodation is usually the weekend before your university orientation week.
Internet connection IS INCLUDED in your SiA Sydney Housing:
Internet in Australia is very different, often quite slow and not easily accessible for free in public places. In Australia internet is charged by download limits. Aussie Internet is the #1 complaint from students! SiA provides internet in your apartment. Upon booking ask for details, such as any limits or restrictions. We can even set you up with personal mobile wireless internet (USB), which you can use anytime, anywhere! Pre-order it with us and it will be ready and activated for you upon arrival.
Phone and cable TV ARE NOT not included in the Housing Fee, unless otherwise indicated:
In most cases, you will need to arrange your own phone and Cable TV service. It is a simple procedure and instructions will be provided. Some students prefer to purchase cell phones instead of a normal residential telephone service.
