To reserve a place/bed with Semester in Australia’s Housing Service in Geelong, prospective students/tenants need to complete four simple steps:
1. Housing Enquiry/Reservation Form
You should first become familiar with the housing options available in Geelong outlining the accommodation options available and their costs, and decide on the type of room and apartment you would like.
The next step is to submit a Geelong Housing Enquiry/Reservation Form, completing all necessary information and contact details.
2. Allocation and Holding Deposit
Upon receipt of your Enquiry/Reservation Form, Semester in Australia will advise you by return e-mail whether there is a room available for you and your reservation has been accepted. At this time, you will receive more detailed information regarding Semester in Australia housing.
You will then need to confirm the booking/reservation by paying the Holding Deposit of AUD$250. This deposit is used to reserve a room and hold your place in an apartment. This deposit is non-refundable should you decide not to go ahead with our final booking. However, if you do finalize your booking, the Holding Deposit will be deducted from your overall Semester Housing Fee.
Group bookings please note: If you would like to secure an entire apartment or more than one room for yourself and any friends you would like to live with, you will all need to complete a Reservation Form and pay a Holding Deposit at the same time. We cannot hold an entire apartment for just one student – you must apply together and all pay your deposits in order to secure your places in one apartment.
If you are unsuccessful, we will advise you and keep your application on file for the current semester and hopefully be able to allocate you an apartment, even if not your first choice.
3. Housing Agreement and Forms
Upon receipt of your Holding Deposit, you will be sent a Housing Agreement and other rental accommodation forms necessary to finalize your place in Semester in Australia accommodation. These forms will need to be completed and signed, and returned to Semester in Australia along with your final Semester Housing Fee payment.
4. Confirmation/Final Payment
Students/residents are required to confirm and secure their place by paying their bond and a portion of the Semester Housing Fee at least 3 weeks prior to their arrival in Australia. A separate invoice/bill will be sent to you outlining the Semester Housing Fee owed (less the Holding Deposit paid) and the Bond/Security Deposit. Payment dates and payment methods will be specified on this invoice.
