Semester in Australia secures fully-furnished housing for students studying at The University of Queensland (St Lucia and Herston campuses), Queensland University of Technology (Kelvin Grove and Gardens Point campuses) and Griffith University (Nathan and Mt Gravatt campuses), so students can settle into Brisbane from their very first day. Currently, we are able to provide UQ & QUT students with four different housing options. Housing Options:
St Lucia 6 Bedroom Apartments:
These are 6-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartments offering six single rooms. There are no share rooms with this option. There are no private/ensuite bathrooms with this option. These apartments are located within a 15 minute walk to campus and 15 minute walk in the other direction to nearby Toowong Shopping Village, popular with students for its shopping, cafes, and student pubs. Bus stops are right out your front door to take you 2-minutes to Toowong Village and about 15 minutes to the City. The apartments are basic, yet modern and comfortable, with a smaller living room/kitchen area shared by the residents. The kitchen has a fridge, stove-top (no oven), microwave, toaster, and all other items for cooking and eating (eg cutlery, crockery, glassware, pots and pans, bakeware, etc). Laundry facilities are located on a separate floor, with AUD$3 per wash/dry. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, so students will need to supply their own fans/heaters as they may require.
Past participants have raved about the great price, the location between the university campus and the popular shopping/entertainment at Toowong Village, and the fact that the apartment complex houses several international students from around the world with whom you can travel and experience Australia to the fullest!

St Lucia 6-bedroom Standard Houses:
These are 6-bedroom, 3-bathroom fully-furnished houses offering six single bedrooms, located at the edge of the UQ St Lucia campus, with a 5 minute walk to campus in one direction, a 5 minute walk to St Lucia Village in the other direction (where a supermarket, post office and cafes are located), a short bus ride to Toowong Village and an easy 20 minute bus/ferry ride to the city. There is one bedrooms with their own private/ensuite bathroom, while the remaining five bedrooms share two bathrooms between them. There is a shared living and kitchen area, as well as an outdoor deck or grassed yard for all residents. There is a full kitchen with fridge, stove-top and oven, microwave, toaster, and all other items for cooking and eating (eg cutlery, crockery, glassware, pots and pans, bakeware, etc).There are no share rooms with this option. Laundry facilities are located on the premises (washer and clothes line) at no additional cost. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, so students will need to supply their own fans/heaters as they may require.

St Lucia Standard Apartment Housing:
These are three- or four-bedroom, 2 bathroom apartments offering single rooms, with the possibility to share one bedroom (Please note, only two students who are friends and know each other will be given the opportunity to share a bedroom). There is normally one room with a private/ensuite bathroom. There is a kitchen and living area to be shared by all residents. There is a full kitchen with fridge, stove-top and oven, microwave, toaster, and all other items for cooking and eating (eg cutlery, crockery, glassware, pots and pans, bakeware, etc). The apartments have more living space, and are a bit closer with a 5 to 15 minute walk to the University of Queensland – St Lucia campus, a short walk to nearby St Lucia Village, a short bus ride to Toowong Village and an easy 20 minute bus/ferry ride to the City. The apartments have a washer and clothes dryer in the apartment at no additional cost. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, so students will need to supply their own fans/heaters as they may require.

Kelvin Grove Student Village:
These are 5-bedroom, fully-furnished apartments located in a purpose-built student complex in the suburb of Kelvin Grove, ideally located within a 5 minute walk to the QUT Kelvin Grove campus and a short bus ride to the QUT Garden’s Point campus. For University of Queensland students, the student village is ideally located just a short walk from the UQ Medical School at Herston and the Royal Brisbane Hospital, a 5 minute bus ride to the City, and an easy 30 minute bus ride to the UQ St Lucia campus. The big plus of this location is that students will have the opportunity to live with Australian students studying in Brisbane. The apartment complex was purpose-built for students, within a purpose built ‘urban village’, where there are cafes, shops and a student theatre. There is a real community feel of like-minded students studying at various education institutions around Brisbane (QUT and UQ, etc).
Students will have their own room, with shared bathroom facilities. There are no double/share rooms available with this housing option. Each room comes with a bed, desk, desk chair, book shelving, and a wardrobe. The apartments do not come with a T.V. so students as a household may like to rent/buy a Television. Laundry facilities are located within the complex at AUD$3 per wash/dry. Students will need to supply their own bed linen and bath towels. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, so students will need to supply their own fans/heaters as they may require.

Utilities:
Utilities connection and usage costs (water, electricity & gas) are included in your Semester Housing Fee. Semester in Australia will pay all utility bills (except telephone) on your behalf. You will not be liable for further utility charges unless there is excessive usage. Your residence will be notified of excessive utility bills before you are charged additional fees.
Housing Services Fee:
This fee is included in the Semester Housing Fee and covers the housing and arrival services, and includes: the pre-booking of fully-furnished private rental accommodation, the pre-departure and arrival information service, on-site Resident Director services, arrivals information and Welcome Pack.
Security Deposit:
A Security Deposit of AUD$400 is in addition to the Semester Housing Fee. This Security Deposit is required in accordance with the Queensland Residential Tenancies Act (RTA). It will be lodged with and held in a separate account by the RTA. The deposit is refundable, less reasonable cleaning costs, at the end of your tenancy provided the apartment is left in satisfactory condition and all furnishing items are accounted for and intact. Generally, you will receive the deposit refund 6 – 8 weeks after the conclusion of the semester.
Leases:
All leases are in line with the Australian academic year and run from February to June and July to November. Semester in Australia will provide housing for your entire semester/program at the Australian university. Any additional housing must be requested prior to your departure to Australia, and is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, please consider your travel dates carefully.
Telephone, Internet and Mobile (Cell) Phone:
Telephone (landline), mobile (cell) phone and internet costs are not included in the overall Semester Housing Fee. There is a telephone in each apartment; however, as the bill must be in the name of a resident, students/tenants must arrange telephone connection and access through a local service provider with connection and usage fees payable by the tenants. It is a simple procedure and instructions will be provided to tenants upon arrival. Cell phones and wireless internet can be arranged prior to your arrival as an additional service.
